What captivates me about UpStart is its unwavering dedication to innovation and entrepreneurship. The organization empowers individuals to embark on a transformative journey, building new opportunities for Jews to embrace practicing their culture/ religion in a way that is personally meaningful. These opportunities create a vibrant Jewish community. Reflecting on my own path, I found community within Urban Adamah, later realizing its affiliation with the UpStart network. This connection opened doors to personal engagement with diverse organizations. The beauty of UpStart lies in its constant spotlight on new and compelling ventures, such as the Shomer Collective (planning for end of life) and Makom Community (Jewish aftercare program in my backyard of Philadelphia)
In the ever-evolving ways that Jews engage with their identity, a relentless focus on innovation is imperative for the future of Judaism. UpStart serves as the driving force, enabling Jews to express their Jewish identity in myriad ways. In our current time of rising antisemitism, being able to authentically express our “Jewishness” is even more critical. Now is the time to support this transformative engine that facilitates realizing diverse Jewish experiences.
