Theresa Church joins UpStart with over six years of experience in communications, operations, and development across mission-driven nonprofits. Before UpStart, she managed finance and communications at the Climate Solutions Accelerator, advancing equity-focused campaigns and regional climate action. She also served as Assistant Director at the Global Justice Ecology Project, leading fiscal sponsorship and collaborating with international partners to amplify mission-driven work. Theresa has taught courses on communication, civic engagement, and sustainability as an adjunct instructor. She earned her M.A. in Resilient Leadership from Naropa University and a B.A. in English from Buffalo State University.

Theresa loves hiking, backpacking, and camping, and she enjoys traveling nationally and internationally to explore new landscapes and outdoor adventures. She also has a soft spot for finding the perfect flat white along the way.
