
Eileen Ruby She/Her
Board Member
Eileen Ruby, a Detroit native, is a former goldsmith and jewelry sales representative. Since retiring, she has devoted herself to volunteer work. Eileen is a past president of the East Bay Jewish Federation and the East Bay Jewish Community Foundation. She just completed her term as board chair of the Bay Area Jewish Federation, where she led the board through implementation of a strategic plan and a new governance structure. Eileen has significant fundraising experience. She has chaired the Federation Annual Campaign and the Endowment Campaign for the Piedmont Education Foundation, and was a principal member of the recent capital campaign team at Temple Sinai. Eileen shared her commitment to the Jewish community with her late husband Rob, an attorney who was president of Berkeley Hillel, an officer of the national BBYO board and a member of AIPAC’s Northern California Board and National Council, and also a past Federation president. Rob and Eileen raised their son Michael in Piedmont, where Eileen still lives. Michael is a professional musician who lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his 5 year
old son, Graham.
