Loren is a strategist, fundraiser, relationship-builder, and lifelong storyteller who loves helping mission-driven organizations grow thoughtfully and sustainably. Before joining UpStart, she served as Director of Development & Institutional Giving at itrek, where she helped scale the organization’s development operation, significantly expanded its community of philanthropic partners, and built the systems and strategies to support its growth. Previously, Loren spent five years at Gibney, a New York City-based arts and social justice organization, where she held several development roles and managed a multimillion-dollar institutional portfolio. Her career began in the dance world, and her background as a dancer continues to shape how she thinks about storytelling, connection, creativity, and bringing people together around a shared purpose. Loren holds an MPA from NYU Wagner, specializing in Social Impact, Innovation, and Investment, and a BA in Business Administration and Dance from Muhlenberg College.

How do you find meaning and come together?

Loren finds meaning in the people, places, and little moments that make life interesting: a morning walk with warm sun, a great book, a Shabbat table, or a really good matcha latte. She loves exploring new places, being in nature, seeing shows in New York City, and spending time with her fiancé, friends, family, and very opinionated yellow tabby cat, Sal.
