Jonathan Schilit, Board Member, is an entrepreneur, investor, and business strategist. He is currently Managing Director of the investment firm, MZWD. Previously, Jonathan oversaw business strategy for the creative agency, Spark Experience, leading growth, business development, and new product development. Prior to Spark, Jonathan co-founded the customer experience startup, Betterific, bringing the crowdsourcing innovation platform to companies like Target, General Mills, Toyota, and Coca-Cola. And before Betterific, he founded Waveborn, a social enterprise that sold sunglasses, and for each pair sold, donated prescription eyeglasses to those in need. Earlier in his career, Jonathan oversaw marketing and partnerships for DoSomething.org and served as Executive Producer for VH1’s Do Something Awards.

Jonathan has a BA and MBA from the University of Maryland. He is a member of JFNA’s National Young Leadership Cabinet, has sat on the Board of Hillel at the University of Maryland, and is a past participant in The Schusterman Foundation’s ROI Summit. With his family, Jonathan co-founded Righteous Crowd, a microgiving platform that from 2019-2020 collectively raised $190,000 that was distributed weekly to a total of 86 organizations serving vulnerable populations.

Jonathan lives in Bethesda, MD with his wife and three children.
